The rafting went really well, though we just did the first section of the river, since the water level was really high we took the decision of not going yesterday for safety reasons. We ended up having a great anyway.
So the first day off rafting -Monday- was great we had so much fun. Everyone enjoyed it, jumping of the raft, swimming, jumping of rocks, it was a blast.
Once at Pacuare Ecolodge we had a great lunch and we did a lot of games and fun activities with kids. Telling scary stories at night was a highlight.
Second day at the lodge was packed with cool things, a Eco-Scavangers Hunt, paint rock to name the plants around the gardens, more games and our usual meeting to talk about the day are a few of the many thing we did.
We did a lot of Spanish talking, and learnt how to "survive" in Costa Rica!!!!
Yesterday after having to call-off the rafting, we hiked up to meet our bus - many people actually pointed it out as a highlight of the day- then we drove to Arenal. We tried more fruits and Icecream. Once at the hotel a little pool time and then we visited the house of a local artist.
And to finish the day we took a 2 hour night walk looking for the wildlife at night, specially frogs and reptiles. It was pouring down, but the kids loved it anyway.
Well, today is Ziplining, Arenal Volcano Hike and the Organic Farm. Sad to think that is our last full day together.

WOW! The smiles in these pictures are so contagious, I'm smiling back at you! Glad to know you're having a wonderful time- rain or shine! Good to see no one is concerned about "helmet hair". I can't wait to hear all the stories about the adventures. You've been gone so long I hardly recognize some of the students in the last few pictures. Enjoy the zip lining today, we did when we experienced it in Mexico. It's unbelievable the trip is coming to an end, we meet again tomorrow. The rest of the summer will not be able to compare to this! Thanks again Diego for keeping us updated with the fantastic pictures. I'm sure Sidney will speak highly of this trip for a long time.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful pics! Looks like you accomplished so much in so little time. Salud!
